Every
day you may make progress.
Every step may be fruitful.
Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path.
You know you will never get to the end of the journey.
But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Winston Churchill

Introduction
There's a saying: "We may not have it all together; but together, we have it all."
This saying shows up everywhere: slide presentations, home decor, tree ornaments, etc. I understand what is meant; "all we need is each other." However, that is not what is written.
I do not "have it all together." Nor do I "have it all." And, quite frankly, some days - I "lose it." I am human. I am frail. I make mistakes. I even make poor decisions, to which I then must face the consequences. I am: stubborn! I also have sparks of brilliance, moments of genius (moments is the key word here, folks). I love the phrase: "Joy is patience dancing." So, I am learning to dance. The important thing is...I'm learning.
I sometimes fool myself into thinking that someday I might finally "get there." I might finally "have it all together." But as my Dad reminds me: "Life is a journey, not a destination."
All of us walk paths in life that are a patchwork. Sometimes the patchwork is lovely and bright while at other times it is dark and confusing. At times we look at the path and wonder how such a crazy piece fits into the over-all template. No matter what we face, we can trust that God is using all the pieces to create His beautiful masterpiece in us as we walk our path in life. Sometimes this thought brings us great joy & comfort; at other times this is a difficult Truth to accept.
Welcome, to the Patchwork Path.
